We had heard good things about the Silver Saddle Cafe, so we drove down from Helena to try it for ourselves. And yes, we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We'd like to return to try the dinner menu!

its a nice 30 mile drive from Helena. Food was average (we ate on the bar side) for this type of establishment.

My wife ordered the prime rib. This was a Friday night. The prime rib was taken from the frig. She ordered it med rare. If the prime were cooked that night , it is possible. She got it well done. They took it back, brought her a new one that was cold thought the steak.
