Atmosphere is so inviting. Knowledgeable staff who attended to all our diet needs and preferences. Whenever we eat out, we like to order food that we don't prepare at home. All the food is fresh with attention to preparing it to bring out its best flavor.

We were seated and immediately received menus and water., followed by Pita nd humus. We placed our order. Food came quickly. As we ate the waiter returned a few times to see if we needed anything.

I always find the noise level a problem. It's totally unnecessary to have music playing when the conversation volume level of the diners is loud (caused by structure of this small restaurant? Don't know cause, but it is a deterrent to my visiting here.)
Food is consistently great. I cannot say I have ever had anything I didn't like. Service is wonderful. We celebrated an senior's 86th birthday. The dessert menu was a little short the day we were there so we didn't order dessert. However, the server knew there was a birthday and they brought out a little dessert and sang happy birthday. They are so thoughtful. It feels like family when we go there.

The spinach pie tasted more like a starchy filling than spinach. A big difference than when they started the restaurant and even three years ago. Spinach pie should taste like spinach and not like starch. Potato, flour, or bread crumbs do not belong in Greek Spinach Pie.

Lately it is not as consistent as in the beginning a few years back. As they have expanded some dishes in the menu are not as good or have the consistency they had in the past. The last three times I have been there it has been a disappointment. Will go to Il Poeta more often.

Some dishes are too salty and others are not at the same high level of quality as when they started several years ago. The spanakopita has too much starch. It is supposed to be spinach, onion, eggs and feta cheese. It is too heavy and not as light as before. Fish is good.
Staff are all friendly, we always get a huge greeting upon walking in. Food is also always fresh delish. Resturant is clean and comfortable.

They have a definite "Quality over Quantity" mentality. But, sometimes quantity has to do a little catch-up to quality not to look ridiculous on the plate.

I have been going to Nick's (which I first learned of via Restaurant.com) for many years and the food and service have been consistently excellent. Portion size is generous and food is delicious. By the way, even the size of a glass of San Gria is tremendous! And the lunch special is excellent and reasonably priced. Also, my wife likes to browse in the antique shops that exist on Metropolitan Avenue where the restaurant is located.
We try to get here at least once a month, my wife and I love the food and the service is always great.

Everything was delicious. Especially, the hummus, Greek meatballs, flounder stuffed with crab meat, rice with feta and spinach and spinach pie. The service was excellent as well.

We ordered Tilapia and the fish did not taste fresh. Also, the house salad was all lettuce and the balsamic dressing on the side was a blob of goo - not pourable over the salad.
Food was just fabulous. The grilled octopus is a standard for our order and tonight we really enjoyed the stuffed cabbage with hint of lemon in its fabulous sauce!

We're about to move to California in a few weeks but had to visit Nick's Bistro before we left as it my favorite restaurant in NYC! The food is always fabulous. We love the dips, Nick's Pick Salad, the Mussels, the Branzini and really everything we've ever tried there. Not only that, but our go-to waiter Jerry is our absolute favorite waiter anywhere in New York! He's so fabulous. We'll miss you Nick's Bistro, and especially our buddy Jerry!

From the moment you step inside, you know you're in for a real treat. You are greeted in the friendliest manner, given ample time to choose your meal, given thorough explanations (and pronunciations) of menu items you may be unfamiliar with (for me, it was the amazing 'Galaktoboureko'), and then served a delectable meal that is 100% on par with the congeniality of its surroundings. Nick's is consistently above average. Had their lamb chops special for $22. It was excellent and great value. They have very good fish as well. Popular restaurant and good service.

The food was delicious as always: we had gyro platters; the meat was savory and slightly crisp on the outside... Perfect. We also had the lamb shank special; it was seasoned perfectly and was served with a generous serving or orzo. It was wonderful. Jerry, our server, as always, served us well. On a previous visit, we went with our newborn daughter, and since it was a slow night, Jerry walked around holding and entertaining our daughter after serving us so we could enjoy our meal.

We go there because they have is a particular desert that we want. Their main courses are pretty good, but in the last 3 times we've been there they don't have the desert. It's disappointing actually. Because it's so good. With only a handful of restaurants in our neighborhood that are decent. It's a nice dining experience to get what you want. And when they consistantantly do not have the desert avail it seems like they are not doing their best to meet the needs of their patrons.
I love many of their dishes, with their own distinctive flair. The only thing I miss is that they took the Loukoumades in honey and rose water off the dessert menu. Please bring it back.

The fish was dry and overcooked, and lacked flavor. When we mentioned that it was overcooked to the owner, he got angry and replied with "attitude".

Yummy food (a dash too much pepper for my taste though): filet mignon kebabs were tender and flavorful, pita & chick peas appetizer is wonderful & free! Our waiters were attentive & friendly ..... can't wait to go back!

It was a Friday night and since we arrived at 8pm we were able to sit and talk after dinner without being rushed out. The portions were so big that I had enough for another meal.

Delicious food overall. The appetizers were great, but the entrees were a bit too oily (Ouzo Chicken) for my taste. The chicken was breaded, but ended up being soggy because it was soaked in oil.

this was our third time and we were not as impressed as the first two times. i specifically said it was my friends birthday and even though the restaurant was empty when we came in they didn't ask where we'd like to sit, instead offered us a table near the kitchen which really offended my friend. then they weren't as attentive as the previous times.

First time that the food and service were somewhat lacking
My wife and I shared an appetizer of Cyprian Sausages that were delicious. We also shared a small Caesar Salad which my wife thought was the best because of the large shavings of cheese. We then shared a Grilled Stripped Bass. This was excellent. Then we shared the apple pie dessert. It was served warm with ice cream and swirls of whipped cream. I almost licked the plate.

Wonderful dining experience. The food as always was supurb as was the service.
WE had the Cyprian Sausages for an appetizer they were delicious. My wife had the Marinated Pork Chops. I had the Colorado Lamb Chops We shared a dessert. Apple pie with Vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious. We can't wait to go back.

Nick's Bistro exceeded our expectations
I passed by & always meant to check it out. But it was thru restaurant.com that I actually saw the menu & got excited to try it. It's different inside from how it looks outside. I thought it would be darker & more bar-like. But it's a really lovely quiet place with great food & great service. Definitely going back!

We had a wonderful experience at Nick's Bistro. The ambiance and service was excellent. The appetizers and side dishes were fabulous. The only complaint we have was our dinner was kind of bland. We had to had alot of salt and lemon juice to it. The presentation of our food was incredible as well.

As usual, all the fish was great - red snapper done perfectly and very tasty, black linguini was delicious, even mozzarella sticks for the kids were good. Party of 8 adults were all happy with their food - not a single complaint, except that we needed more spinach rice. You can't go wrong here.

This place was fantastic. Only downside was that the size and layout of the restaurant did not adequately keep out the occasional gust of cold air when the door was opened. Would HIGHLY recommend. All dishes tried were superb, price/quantity ratio was fantastic, and service was more than adequate.

I thought the food was great and the service was excellent. They were completely nice about having the voucher. In the past I've had waiters not like it when you have a voucher and treat you differently, but they did not. I would go there without a voucher- my Mom and I LOVED it! Thank you to the restaurant for giving us such a wonderful experience.

It is a friendly atmosphere and I like the fact that they give there great hummus for free as a courtesy. I like there sangria as well. ditto to all above. Three thumbs up.
When I went onto the website there was a typo in the menu "lamp chops" I knew it was lamb chops, but it might be beneficial to correct the typo.
Service was very good and even our water glasses were never empty. Also had pleasant conversation with couple next to us. A lovely evening!

Lovely place. The Red Snapper was a little dry but over all a wonderful dining experience.
The staff is friendly. They do not see offering a delicious humus with pita a loss, their portions are generous and filled with real home cooking.
Delicious authentic Greek food. Nice atmosphere with Greek music playing in the background. Love the beans and hummus platter with pita that they give you while waiting for your meal.

Nick's has well above average Greek food. Probably the best baklava we've ever had.
We were greeted rudely as soon as we entered.We waited to be seated and since no one helped us we sat our self.Only to be asked with and attitude if we have reservations.WE moved to a lesser table and were still the only two people in the joint.The food is not Greek and is not good.We (3) of us had very poor meals and will never go back.
