We ate outside while Willie Nile peformed during one of their outdoor concerts.
The restaurant had a good variety of sandwiches and the restaurant was very clean.

The sandwiches were delicious as well as the chicken dumpling soup! The dining area was warm and cozy and the employees are very friendly.
There were many food options and everyone in my family enjoyed the food they ordered. Very fresh and tasty!

The food was outstanding and the staff was very friendly. We stopped in Mt. Pleasant (from Detroit, on our way to Big Rapids), just to have lunch there.
Took a while to prepare two sandwiches. Staff gave us two free cookies to "compensate" us for our patience while waiting. The sandwiches were good.

LOVE the chicken and dumpling soup!
Mainly soup, salad and sandwiches. Only tried the sandwich. It was (the #36, "The Usual". All of their menu looks delicious. You have to order and pay at the counter. Then they bring you your food to the table. On a nice day, you can't beat the patio.

Their sandwiches are absolutely amazing, and I love that there is outdoor seating. Their chocolate chip cookies were great too.

So glad that restaurant.com led me to this restaurant. I live out of town and had never heard of it. It was a mid-point place to meet my two sons and we all enjoyed it so much, we're going to make a monthly trip to meet there!

Amazing sandwiches & selection.
Establishment was clean. Air conditioning wasn't cooling as it should have been but we weren't there long enough for it to be a problem.

This is a casual restaurant in Old Downtown Mt Pleasant with a great sandwich menu.They also have a coffee bar with everything from a good cup of coffee to a handcrafted Latte all at a good price point. This was our first time dining here & we enjoyed our experience along with the food and will teturn. Our service was also fast and friendly.
We arrived right before closing. I didn't realize they closed at 7. We ordered at 6:55. We were allowed to stay and eat while they were closing. They all were extremely nice. And our food was amazing.
So many choices. Tried 3 different sandwiches and a burger. Everything fresh and delicious.

Max and Emily's is not only a great place to enjoy friendship and great food, their management is awesome. We love thesummer concert series they put on each year for the community and Elmo is wonderful. Thanks for all you do!!

Since we just arrived from a different time zone, we came in just before closing without realizing it. In spite of this, the staff took good care of us. They were courteous and it was clear they enjoyed some aspects of their job.

the girl behind the counter was awesome from when we first walked in! I think she recognized the fact that we were 1st timers and offered us the printed menus as we were trying to read the chalk boards. She gave us several suggestions [ which were awesome]!We also got a sandwich to go and she offered extra wrap since it wasn't going to be eaten for a few hours. My son enjoyed his sandwich cold and wants to come here with us next time we're at CMU!!
great soups
The food was very good and the servicewas extremely quick. Also, we were able to dine outside prior to an outdoor concert. We were only sorry we couldn't stay for the concert.

I ordered #66 Salsa Ranch wrap. It was ssssssssssoooooooo good. My husband ordered #18 The Tim. He loved it. Another wrap was ordered, cant remember which one. But we were all very happy with the taste of the food.
The staff are very friendly and out going. It's a fun place. We love going there, but live 40 miles away so we don't get there as often as we like.
They have the best sandwichs! And the chocolate cheesecake was delicious!

This is such a unique but comfortable place to eat. Plenty of places to sit and have a good conversation.
The sandwiches were very tasty. We both commented on the lack of meat on them however. It seemed kind of light or the price and size of the sandwich. 50% more meat would have seemed more like a sandwich rather than mostly bread.

We didn't know closing time so arrived 20 minutes prior to closing. The staff made us aware of the closing time but told us to take our time and made us feel that we were important to them. We chose to eat outside so they could clean up and they checked on us several times to be sure we were satisfied. Very personable staff!

Food was not served in a timely matter. Many other people were getting their food even though they ordered a long time after us. My wife had to go to the counter to remind them of our order. Food was very good when it was received.

Max and Emily's is a local favorite that has excellent food and service. I go there often, even without any coupons. (but the coupons do help!)

Sandwiches we each had (#2 - Lizzy) was one of the best we've ever had. We're both in our mid-60s.

For the price of the sandwiches purchased I have had more meat on them at other restaurants. The sandwiches were tasty. Better than fast, fast food. The soup was great. The staff that waited on me were very polite and helpful. Thanks for a nice eating experience
It was okay. Very pricey. $2.25 is a lot for a small muffin.The sandwich was good but they had to substitute because they were out of bacon and out of the right bread. Girls appeared more interested in private conversation than the customer.
Our order was wrong, long wait, manager brought us free cookies and apologized. SHould have been free meal!
I used to come there every Friday for lunch, but since I've graduated and moved a little over a year ago, it's where I go when I'm filling nostalgic. Great sandwhiches and a suprising number of vegetarian choices-- you don't get that most places.
