The food is great! The characters are fun! We LOVE Captain Jack Sparrow the best! He is Great for adult fun!
Love the atmosphere, love the employees! Hope that they will be able to sustain through this crazy pandemic. I’m sad that some employees, characters are gone and hope we don’t lose anymore.

The website advertises an experience and fun characters roaming around and they even have the gall to hand you a signature book!! For what!?? The only person who visited us was a balloon guy that was there for cash!! not busy, dead silent, plenty of time to entertain their customers as advertised for a magic experience!!! Especially for the price!!!

We went for lunch for the daughters 13 Birthday. The hostess was not very friendly. Our waiter was very nice but really not a fun character. Plus he forgot all about my daughters birthday. I clearly told him that is what we were celebrating. My husband only ate about two bites out of his steak. He really did not care for it.

Our kids food looked as if it had sat under a heat lamp for awhile. My prime was stuffed with more potatoes than the actual seafood. The staff didn’t interact with us as much. The guy that cleaned the tables interacted more with our kids than any of the characters. The salad bar was half empty. Our overall experience was not worth the time or money.

The waiter was a little rude. I take my grandchildren a least twice a year. We usually have a great experience. It was my granddaughter’s birthday and we had to ask more than once to bring birthday dessert and sing happy birthday. The waiter Luigi was disinterested and didn’t pay a lot of attention. We had to ask for the balloon guy and the photographer never came to us even though he was walking around us. We were the only all black family in the place. This is enough to make me stop this tradition of coming to the restaurant.

Been coming to Magic Time Machine since opening. My Mother attended school in same building... Our waitress Queen of Hearts was the BEST EVER!!!!! And the Gentleman that dresses as the T0y Story was so entertaining and such an Asset!!!! SO... Nice too.

The food was...edible, mostly. Worst salad bar (cart) ever. Ribs were dry. Baked potato was... fresh the day before. Portions are large, but I didn't want to keep eating because it really wasn't good.

Missing the magician, and any atracción they doesn't have any that day and the waiter wasn't talking to much to the kids
Waitress, though pleasant, was covered in tatoos and wearing a low cut tank top. Apparently some character from Space Jam. No wait person should serve food dressed and looking the way she did. It was a real put off. The salad bar was the best food there and not kept up well. Steak (medium) was tough, fatty and grisly. Mahi Mahi very dry and overcooked. Chicken Parmigan tasteless and margarita tasted like a snow cone with lime juice. When leaving, a different waiter followed me out the door claiming I had shorted the bill by $50.00. I explained I used my $50.00 restaurant.com certificate. He argued that I have to spend $100.00 to redeem it. Explained I had spent over $250.00 and he left me alone. Had a very fun experience 10 years ago and my son wanted to come back this time for his birthday. No visits from any characters, magicians or anything to even suggest we were at The Magic Time Machine. No one even recognized who our waitress was suppose to be until she told us.
Our waiter was not attentive and somewhat rude. There is a forced gratuity that he absolutely did not deserve. We weren’t asked if we needed refills and he forgot my fathers beverage. We didn’t see the waiter again until he was asking if we wanted dessert.
The food was great! The characters patient with all the kids asking for “autographs”. Just the atmosphere in itself was awesome! The best part was that the kids loved the food! All 6 said the food was great...when do kids ever say that.

Wonderfully prepared food and drinks plus the magic and entertainment of your waiter in character makes it the perfect evening. Love the salad bar and atmosphere. Very theatric. Our waiter Jack Sparrow was outstanding to say the least.

We had a great bar tender & excellent server who made it very fun. The wait was very long 1.30 hours , it was a cold night, the waiting areas were very cold. Overall was a fun experience for family of 5 adults

This is a truly ONE of a kind experience. There’s no other restaurant I’ve ever been to even remotely close to this on a conception level. Truly outstanding for unique dining and the kids were dumbfounded. The entire waitstaff was super friendly and always in character and even the photographer was hilarious. The only issue I had was that the ballon animal guy totally jipped us based on what I saw from EVERY other table. My kids got a basic one color plain blue dogs while EVERYONE else left with multicolored shimmery glittered HUGE arrangements. Cant tell you how much I am disappointed in that, but everything else was SUPER cool.

Meh.. we had a better time at the San Antonio location a few years ago. Our waitress was nice/good, but wasn’t into her character. We were seated in a tree hole where you couldn’t see ANYTHING other than the people in our party. Would have been more fun to see the characters and things going on.
Nacho libre was into character and made our dinner experience awesome. I’ve been here at least 10 times and he has been my favorite so far.
We were celebrating my grandson's birthday. The food, service, and atmosphere was all good. It was an added attraction to have an artist who was drawing portraits. The certificate made this a very reasonable meal.
With 4 children 5 and under in the party they were able to accommodate us in a separate room which was great. Need to make sure things move along a bit more quickly so all don't get too restless...

Kids were given a card to collect signatures from the characters, but this was a very disappointing task as none of them were interested in doing this. Acted put out when a kid asked. Ordered the salmon. Was not warned that the pick on top was exrememly spicy. Burned my mouth so badly that it stilll hurts the next morning. Didn’t find the loaf of bread until everyone was done with their meal since it was wrapped in a napkin exactly like the silverware.
Because we came so early (11:00) there were not many staff dressed up. The kids were disappointed.

Very long wait, over an hour at 6 pm... Must not have enough tables or wait staff, because there weren't a while lot of people waiting; old Smoky smell upstairs in small, crowded arcade which cost lots of money for quick short games; magic show cost money too, and only accepted cash; server wasn't very thematic, she just wore some clothes like the character but no other traits except a quick storyline at the salad bar; salad bar was mediocre, small; not many menu options except meat, fried stuff, and pasta; they were out of the one vegetable that seemed appealing (asparagus); balloon guy was pretty bold about asking for tips and had some funny, quirky jokes, but overall awkward; they took our pictures but it cost $12 per picture, Wich was way too pricey, especially considering they just throw away the prints we don't purchase; food was decent, especially enjoyed the blackened catfish over mashed potatoes; we were very glad to use the coupon for $25 off, otherwise it would have felt like a rip off. Probably won't be back.

This restaurant is so cool! It has so much potential. Unfortunately, it needs so much updating and cleaning and the characters need to put a little bit more effort into their act, that it wasn’t that good.

The wait was over 1 1/2 hours and there were a lot of empty tables throughout the restaurant. The food took an exceptionally long time to come out. It was obviously UNDERSTAFFED!! We asked to be seated in the main dining room and were told we had no choice. We were stuck in one of the farthest corners where we never saw any one else. Our waiter was less than entertaining in fact, he was somewhat rude and unaccommodating and it was not part of his character. He added gratuity to our bill and after we had to chase him down to get the check then to get it back, the person signing the check missed the added gratuity so a meal with poor service and mediocre food got double tipped. We didn't realize until we'd already left. At that point, we'd been there 4 hours with a 4 year old! There was no going back for a correction! I took family there that had never been before after I've been bragging about it for years!!! I not only was extremely disappointed but embarrassed We do usually go to the San Antonio location which apparently is far superior to the DFW location but I've been to DFW at least a dozen time over the last 20 years or so and never have had ad any complaints. They seem to be in great need of training, additional staff and better management!!
It is a fun place to visit with kids. But the place need to clean up a little more. Especially the carpet. It's old and look dirty.
In my opinion it is a five, but my one complaint would be how long the total dining experience is. It seems like every time we go it is about two hours.

Geared towards families with young children as all the waiters are dressed in costume and try to entertain the kids. The food was good, not great. The decor is dated, but fun. Go on off-times to avoid crowds.

This place was fantastic and sooo unique! We ate inside of a giant acorn. Our waitwr was Greu from Dispicable Me! There was a salad CAR- yes I said car, not bar. Each booth or table had its own theme and all the wait-staff is costumed as dif characters! Food was excellent running between 14-24 for the entrees. Our drinks were magic potions that actually bubbled. Such a fun atnosphere. We will def go back and props again to our waiter who was hilarious and stayed in char the whole time!
We had Captain Jack Sparrow as our waiter on a busy Friday night. He was able to keep up with everything including entertaining all the kids that came around asking for autographs. It's always a treat having dinner here.

Group of 16 couldn't make reservations unless we had 25 showed up at 3pm had to wait almost 2 hours then placed in back split between 2 tables. Asked to rush through our dinner and celebration so they could seat another party. Gave us 3 wait staff too and were still unable to get us done in the time they wanted. Never got our photo taken. Little interaction from the characters. Over prices food that was mediocre at best. Salad car empty. The list goes on and on. Also needs updated the decor is the same from over 20 years ago- at least clean it. Dirty! Very disappointed. Had to ask 4 times for our birthday song.

Things were good except when asked if we could have a special area to eat in they said that is only for parties of 7 or more. We had 5 in our party. Thing is we were there for 2 hours and more than half the special areas were still not being used.
The restaurant has lost some luster, the wait staff seemed were not as engaged as in the past. Very robotic.
While meals are a bit expensive, each of our portions were huge, not including the endless salad bar, and everyone really enjoyed their food.
My food was mediocre and my drinks were watered down or didn't contain much of the spirits as normal restaurants. I understand it's a family atmosphere but if you say you are serving adult beverages make me believe it.

We go here a couple times a year for small celebrations for kids. This time, it fell below expectations. The cheese sticks were good. The waitress was fine but she did not ask us what we are celebrating even after we told them upon check-in. The meals are where it really fell short. We order the ribs and chicken combo. It just didn't taste good at all. The baked potato is fine but there was a three dollar up charge for that and then a five dollar up charge for an extra one. The kids cheese pizza was lackluster. The dessert at the end was a cake with melted ice cream. Again, no one ever came to our table to celebrate our kids. I hope they fix the food and bring the fun back.

We were here for my sons 10th birthday and it was awesome! It surpassed our expectations. We had an awesome night! Our spiderman waiter was the best part! Our group was myself, my wife and 4 kids who ages ranged from 4-14 and they all loved it!

Haven't been here in a long time and the last time I came, we were seated in a booth away from everything and the food wasn't that great. But we were celebrating 3 birthdays and wanted to try a new place for the kids. We went Saturday nite about 7pm. Our wait was 70 minutes but it went by quickly as upstairs there was a magic show ($3 per person) and arcades (most.50) to keep the kids and adults entertained. We were finally seated in a great area and Spiderman was our waiter (I was SO happy). The kids were just WOW'ed!! We saw Velma (scooby doo), Jasmine, Luigi, Jack Sparrow, Nacho Man, Zorro, Merida (Braveheart), Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Peter Pan. It was a HIT! I told everyone not to expect great food, but I was wrong! All our meals were really good. I had catfish/shrimp, my son had the Adam cut steak and my grandson had prime rib.The kids had pizza and chopped steak. All very good and we also enjoyed the salad bar. At the end, Jasmine, Spidey and Luigi sang Happy Birthday to us and then we let the kids walk around and ask for autographs. The place was busy, but everyone was extremely accommodating. Oh and I swore I was not going to buy any pictures from the lady that comes to each table and takes them. But they reversed our faces on one of the pics, it was so funny and unique, that yes, I forked over $12. All in all a GREAT nite. We will be back. I paid $9 for a $50 coupon from Restaurants.com, so with tip included I paid $80 for a meal for 5 (including 4 drinks and one dessert). Note: the place is old and there are some smells (smoke/must), but it didn't distract from our nite.
Very busy Wednesday night. Lots of large parties caused a longer than expected wait. 45 minutes.
This is a very kid friendly oriented restaurant (kids are free and encouraged to roam) with all employees that we saw dressed up as various movie characters. I did not see one employee that was not top notch at interacting with the many kids that were constantly at their feet! Our waiter Gru was exceptional interacting with our family and always on point!! We will definitely be going back!!!

I grew up going to MTM (anytime that our family went to Austin, San Antonio or Dallas). I have taken my children several times over the years also. It seems that there is so much less energy and enthusiasm (particularly at the Dallas. The restaurant itself is neat to look at. However, the service and quality of food left much to be desired. We were seated in a quiet and dark corner (where the ac seemed to not be working well). The atmosphere was actually almost depressing. And, the server was not at all attentive (i.e not around for 15+ minutes at a time, drink refills were not offered until after our meal was complete, requested extra plate was not brought until everyone was done eating, took more than 10 minutes to get our check after asking etc). The positive side was that there was no wait (for our party of 14) and the man drawing caricatures near the door was good.
Funtastic. We went for husband's 50th birthday and had a ball. Nacho was a great server.
While the decor is a little run down, the servers and the food more than make up for it. It's a great place to go to when celebrating a special occasion. The servers stay in character and are incredibly welcoming to all. It's definitely worth a trip!

Our only complaint was that it took a very, very long time to get our entrees and the food wasn't that great. Only mediocre at best considering the price. You are definitely paying for the atmosphere when dining at this restaurant.

From beginning the atmosphere seems cool, but when you take a look closer it is not so cool. Waiting for meal about 35 min, not including the line to get a table (it take about 45 min-1 hour). Food - it's not tasty at all, my beef steak (12 oz) looks so small, and they did not put any sauce to meat, beef also not tasty. They not removed a shell from shrimps in popcorn shrimps!!! how we suppose to eat that small pieces? Everything went to trash..And the big deal for me was a bugs on the table. Where Very dirty, very, they can not clean, and it old building.. Not what I expected for this prices.

The waiter, Nacho Libre, was entertaining and the service was good considering how busy the restaurant was on the Saturday night we went. The dining areas are in alcoves and while most of the alcoves seemed kind of private to the party, we had to share our alcove with a bunch of unfriendly noisy girls. The food was decent but was plated very sloppily and didn't look very appetizing. The price of the meal including tips is very good. I bought a $50 certificate for $20 on Restaurant.com. The cost for three mixed drinks, one iced tea, three steak dinners, two pasta dinners, salad bar, bread, and a $30 tip totaled only $100 after applying the certificate. Definitely a place to take a large group out for a meal.

We absolutely love the characters. They are always so into their role and that makes it fun for the kids. Just adults? No problem! They have a GREAT sense of humor and know how to "poke fun" without being disrespectful. GREAT, FUN place to go!!

it's a fun place for young kids. magicians, balloon artists, and wait staff were characters that the kids love; however, it'd be great if they acknowledge or say hi to the kids even if they're not waiting on our particular table. food isn't the attraction and the facility smelled old/moldy.

Usually when the atmosphere is the main attraction of a restaurant, the food is average. The food that we ordered was excellent. Steaks were ordered, and they were cooked to perfection. The salad bar was nice and fresh. This was the most fun I have had in a while. I have been going to this restaurant since the early 80s.
Musty smells,no interactions with any of the characters. Booth was uncomfortly cold. We never had any bread brought to ourtable and the kids were expecting to be entertained but were very bored

There were many things that made the overall experience fantastic including our waitress, Rey (the new Star Wars movie character), the food was delicious, the salad car had a very fresh selection of salad greens, and each table, including our own, had enough privacy that we hardly heard anyone else dining near us.

Red Riding Hood is a great waitress and the food was fantastic! They didn't have their signature cheese crackers on the salad car, so Red specifically went and got some for us! So great!

It was a Tuesday night, so not as many people were there. This allowed extra time with the waiters dressed in character. Excellent service, funny waiter/waitresses. We also had character drawings done for us and funny photos (extra $). My meal wasn't that great (the meat was too dry), but everyone else in our party had different entrees and they said their meals were good.

It has been probably 5 years since I had dined here. The experience was completely different then from what I remember.
The food was mediocre. Was not impressed with the limited menu options and the cost of them. We felt you're paying for the experience. The entertainment aspect, the name and to say you have been. I would not recommend this place.
Even though we are grandparents we found the atmosphere to be enjoyable and the food was good. They do need to update the upholstery and the carpeting. It was very dated.

great place for celebrations, especially b-days. we like to walk though the restaurant to look at all of the décor, and see the costumed wait-staff. my kids love to take pictures with them. this time we went upstairs and had our caricatures drawn.the food is great, and we love the way they use dry ice in the "potion" drink, and the bubbly hand soap that is brought to the table.

Right when you walk in it smells like an old antique shop -not what you want to smell when dining. Severs are very nice and quick but there jokes may come off rude like the ninja ninja that told the group of 6 kids no when asked for his autograph and the spaceship guy who screamed "your on my way!" Its a joke but for customer service you have to be more careful these types of jokes usually dont end well. I wish the costumes were nicer some were kinda lame, looks like Halloween costumes from party city. Places needs remodeling could be more decorated. Otherwise food wasnt bad and my 3 yr old like it. I would come back way more often if the remodeled had better costumes and if it didnt smell.

We had 8 people including 2 elderly handicapped men and 2 children. We were crammed into a little booth, that had no leg room, and that both handicapped men had difficulty even sitting at the end. We requested a larger table, we were told that they their booths were made to fit 6-8 people, and our server advised us that they didn't have anything bigger or handicap friendly, and it would be a 45 min wait for them to try and put tables together. None of us wanted to wait 45 mins with 2 children. Then as we walked to the salad bar, we passed the school bus section that was large enough for our group, and was vacant. I really don't like being lied to, and my legs were killing me. Paying $160 to be cramped together like sardines ruined the experience for everyone including our daughter who specially requested it for her birthday, and we will not be going back.

Make the menu smaller and the food better. Iced tea is overpriced at $2.49. Food was just mediocre at best. Salad bar okay. Ariel was nice but perhaps she can cover her tattoo? We sincerely appreciated Ariel and Minnie singing to our friend's kid for a celebration.
Everyone is super nice and they do a great job with the kids. The problem is that the food is awful. My son had the Chicken Alfredo. The chicken was so tough, it was hard to cut. Impossible for him to eat. My blackened mahi mahi was completely tasteless. It came with melted butter (which I love) but it was also awful.
Please do not remove the salad car.

We were seated within a few minutes of arriving...got there at 5:30pm on a Friday...looked busy when we left at 7pm. Waitress was nice but persistent on upselling us drinks and add-ons. Salad bar was good but no cheese or bacon bits. We had the 16oz prime rib (Adams rib) with mashed potatoes and 5 add-on fried shrimp...she made it sound like these would be jumbo shrimp but really they were medium sized butterflied...would skip the shrimp for $3.99. Prime Rib was good. We also had Pasta Premivera and my son liked that but had no meat. For dessert my son had the Oreo Sundae which looked good. My wife and I had the Apple Cobbler which wasn't worth it...hardly any apples...mainly crust. They also have a photographer who will take your picture and offer them to you for a price.
Waiting was over 2 hours and for a group of11 we end up with two tables its was not fun to celebrate a birthday dinner

Great dining experience. My wife and I ate there 25 years ago on a date in high school and this time to celebrate our son's 24th birthday so the "Magic" is undeniable. The food was all cooked perfectly and the service (we had Ariel the Little Mermaid)was excellent.

My children enjoy the Magic Time Machine. The only reason this was not excellent was that we specifically drove 2 1/2 hours just to eat here. We had to wait 45 minutes even with reservations. Finally, our poor waiter not only had his original tables, but was added 6 more tables because of the volume of people there that night. When we finished at 8:45, we still had a 2 1/2 hour drive home.

They do not take reservations on Friday and Saturday. We were in a party of 7(3 kids). Our wait was over 2hours, we were told our wait was 45min - 1 hour when we arrived. While waiting we were invited up go to the second level, This is where the review turns sour. While waiting you can purchase a $3 each ticket to watch a "magic show". purchase $20 palm reading. Purchase tokens to play in the arcade area. Purchase a charater drawing. See, the theme? It would be nice if the place would offer free intertainment while waiting with kids. We did order starters and drinks while waiting for our dinner table. Next to the 2 hour wait, and money pit waiting area, they allowed SMOKING in the waiting area which is also a bar. This is a HUGE problem. I have a 2 year old, there were people in there with infants. Needless to say we didnt' stay on the second level very long.Overall this place is overrated. :(

With the overall dining experience I am also including the competency of service provided by MANAGEMENT. Hold times and PROMISED return phone calls made me return to my feeling that I will highly recommend that my friends NOT go here.
My prime rib was far better than I expected. All the food we sampled was at least up to or exceeded expectations. Slightly disappointed we were not able to get a single seating at a large table, as we had to use two separated tables for our party of 13.

Our server was Super Girl. She was fantastic! We had The Magician come to the table and delighted the children and adults as well. Esmeralda along with Super Girl sang to my out of town aunt. The kids played follow the leader with The Magician and all the other servers joined in to. It was a fun and memorable night for all. The children enjoyed getting all the servers autographs and viewing all the table settings.

Wonderful place to take our grandchildren on their birthdays! We try to do something special with just the birthday child without their siblings & they adore going to the Magic Time Machine & using their imagination. The servers are all dressed up as either super heroes or fictional characters & will sign autographs for the kids & pose for pictures! The kids love it, so it makes the grandparents happy too!

One waiter took order for drinks, a second waiter came to our table as a replacement and the appetizer and drink order was delay the Table room was very cold, when we asked the server if we could move to another table he said there was so much going on and didn't think it was possible. We ordered two appetizers, only one was delivered, and no one informed us the reason. We also ordered four coffees and three were delivered. We informed two servers that we were missing one coffee and finally after about a twenty minute wait they brought the coffee. Bread was part of the meal we asked what was the hold on the bread and was told that they didn't have any at that moment, it was brought to our table at the end.

Our waiter was the Mad Hatter - and did a lovely job. But the restaurant was packed with loud, young kids, the food was mediocre at best and it took almost 30 minutes for a manager to correct my bill when the restaurant.com certificate was not correctly removed.

They will not seat you until your WHOLE party is there. Two people got lost and we had to sit in the lobby area for 45 minutes. It was my daughter's 18th birthday and we asked if we could be seated somewhere where we would be able to see the servers and get pictures and we were seated in the Library, which is in a corner surround by walls. You pay for the atmosphere at a place like this, and we didn't really have atmosphere where they put us.

Once they called us, the hostess took us to our table, but the table was not clean so she asked us to wait for 5 minutes (turned into 10 minutes). Finally, they seated us, but in a different table. The quality of the food was not very impressive for the price we paid. I ordered the 3 by 4 and asked for my steak to be cook medium rare and when it came out, it was well done...I asked the waiter to get me a new steak and it took him like 15 minutes before he brought it back. By that time, I lost my appetite. I did not eat my food at all. It took forever for the waiter to get our check. I would not go back to this place again.

Called for reservations, were told they don't take for <25, but could put name on the list and they would call when table ready (had 15 minutes to show). When we went to put name on list, were told 1-1.5 hour wait, would not call us, but we could call in 1/2 hour to check on status (this was @ 5:40 pm). At 6:15, called and told to come in 45 minutes and table would be ready. Showed at 7:00, and were told another 30-40 minutes. Told mgr what Erin had told me @ 6:15. He apologized but nothing could be done. We were seated @ 7:20.
Waitress had crummy attitude, had to wait too long for table, drinks were served with no ice. Waitress wasn't hardly in character at all!!! We had to wait long periods of time for items we asked for. Drinks were often empty.
Extremely long wait - even after arriving at 8:30pm, we were not seated until 9:45pm. Ordered immediately and food arrived at 10:40pm. Wish they allowed reservations, as we'd been planning this for weeks and it was difficult with two 7-year-olds. Aside from that, great experience...excellent service, great staff, good food and kids love the atmosphere.
Slow night, not exciting for kids, no waiters interacted with them even though there was hardly anyone there, hostess too busy on phone to work with us on our request that we wanted to sit somewhere besides the place she put us where you could not see anyone or anything. Very disappointed due to it being grandson's birthday. Restaurant does not live up to the bad reviews though. It was nice and food good.

We had a great time once we finally got to sit down. It was a 2 hour wait which was a little much but it ws spring break. YOu could have a better selection of games though.

Once we got a seat, the experience was great. The problem was before we got our seat. We chose this dining experience as a special treat for the week with my niece and nephew and their grandmother. When we arrived, we were told the wait was an hour. That was long, but the kids did great. The first hour. It was another 35 minutes before we were seated, 50% longer. That would have been understandable if there weren't EMPTY tables throughout the restaurant. People were on top of each other waiting, and roughly half the tables in the eating part were empty.
We do not like the roaming entertainers I.e. the balloon maker, the magician and the photographer that come by your table and all are wanting tips or to sell your $10 photo. When you're with your kids of course they want a balloon and want to see magic tricks. It's like being nickels and dined the whole time you're eating.
A Thursday night, restaurant was very empty so there was not a lot of atmosphere. It should have provided even more interaction with characters, but it did not. Hostess was too busy on her cell phone to help us with our request sit somewhere else. we were put in the only place that had absolutely no atmosphere, as we could not see ANYTHING OR ANYBODY. It was a birthday and we were disappointed in our location and lack of interaction. However, we did like the MTM.

All the other characters were great!

I have visited several times on the weekdend. The atmosphere was great and full of energy. However, during a weeknight the same enthusiasm was missing and disappointing.
Our server was awesome and he did everything to make our experience great. The service at the front desk was a little off. We were told it would be close to 1.5 hr wait, so I told them the kids were sleeping and we would be in the truck and let our kids continue to sleep, husband went in after 30 min to get an update and they had called our name and took us off the list. They did seat us about 15-20 later to make up for it. The food also took a while to get to our table and for the price, I would have expected it to be better. Lastly, the "magic potion" drinks barely bubble n smoke anymore. They have cut back in several areas in seems.
Long wait on Saturday. We're initially told over 2 hour wait but ended up only waiting an hour. Atmosphere is extremely cool. Food was ok could have been better. Overall kids enjoyed it a lot running around trying to get waiters and waitresses autographs who were dressed as different characters. A little pricey for us and the building could use some touch ups as its a little old.
Service was horribly slow--possibly because the place was crowded. Worked for us as we had time to visit with friends we hadn't seen in years.....but our child was hungry and bored....

Terrible service. We were treated like a number and when our order was wrong, our waitress disappeared and avoided us. We had to involve manager, who was just as bad.
Usually give a 5 rating but reduced it to 4 because on this visit. Our waiter Mario spent too much time flirting with the cute girls around the corner and did not check in on us in a timely manner. We had to ask for the bread to be be served instead of it being served after we went to the salad car. Also our water ran dry more than once because of lack of attention.
Our server Superman had a great sense of humor. The one thing that was not done by him though is to wait to all the party before heading to the salad bar. People can get lost there. Back in the days they made everyone hold hand and do like a train walk marching to the salad bar. Other than that he was good.
The MTM is a fun experience, especially when taking first-timers or celebrating a special occasion. The menu is varied (something for everyone, even a vegetarian). And my elderly mother has always ordered a smaller portion meal, no questions asked, so they are very accomodating. On this trip however, the temperature of our entrees was a bit "off"; they should have been warmer.
Waitress was the worst we have ever had. It was our 5 years olds birthday and she didn't even remember to come sing happy birthday. When we reminded her she said that she could try and do that. No personality either. Other then throwing napkins at us and calling it pixie dust, there was no character.
Cinderella did an excellent job controlling our high school cheer group and meeting all our needs!

I love the concept, but it honestly just smells terrible. Can't y'all just get rid of that musty mildewy stank? Also, is there any way to get some TALLER sitting for your customers. Ya got all these short people seating in the lobby, nothing for normal size adults.

My grandson loved it. He was so busy having fun with the balloons and people that he hardly ate.
My server, Supergirl, was excellent. Most other servers did not put out much effort.Some of their costumes looked like street clothes.Most were unidentifiable.

Went for a child's birthday. The kids loved it and it kept their interest the whole time. Our waitress was not the most entertaining, but her co-workers were really funny.

I have had better experiences there before. We always bring our nieces and nephews there for the "childhood experiences" however this time we felt like it is losing that feeling and becoming more like the dicks restaurant experience. Our waiter who was the big bad wolf character was insulting to us and thus we did not get the "storybook" experience we enjoy going there for.
Our visit was enjoyable due to our waiter "Big Bad Wolf". He was a real character. If I had little kids, then this would be a nice place to go for them, but not really for an all adult group. But the overall experience was good.
Our server, Katniss from Hunger Games, was wonderfully polite and personable! Unfortunately, the other servers were much less friendly to the children in our party wanting their autographs. One of the perks of this restaurant is the character involvement and when attitude from WonderWoman and Marilyn is rude and unfriendly, it really puts a damper on our children's visit.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was good. It was my Daughters 4th birthday and she had a really good time. The only negative was that we waited in line a long time for the cartoon artist. He allowed several people to go in front of us who were not waiting in line. After it happened a secound time we gave up and left without a drawing.

I heard it was a fun place for kids but it was very dull. Perhaps since a weeknight instead of weekend but not interactive like I had been told by friends.
I would come again with childern, this is an exciting place for them, great for birthdays and parties.

We were there for daughters b-day party. Had fun. We do think the place needs a deep cleaning. Especially upstairs....just smokey and dusty. I know MTM is old, but it could use a really good cleaning all over the place.

The waiting area smells musty. The eating area with the pumpkin booth and the Charlie Brown area had the smell of sewage. My wife & I both ordered the prime rib, cooked medium rare, but they were almost medium well done. The staff was friendly and their service was good.
It was a great experience. My brother went with us and he is usually a little too outgoing. This was the perfect place to take him. We had a blast!

Food is about as good as Denny's and priced like Houston's. Very unique and fun place for the kids but if someone would pay some attention to food quality then maybe parents would return more often and the place wouldn't be half empty on a Friday night.

The Girls that sit at the box inside are not overly friendly. The food is mediocre at best. We go for the ambiance and entertainment which is always great! If the MTM could nail down a better menu or at lest a better chef, they would be a favorite!

We've dined there several times, and always had a pleasant experience. This time, however, we ordered the prime rib and it was very tough, almost unchewable. It was very disappointing for such a high-priced item on the menu not to be of good quality.

After waiting 1 hour for our table, which was ok... We had to wait over an hour for our food. Then we ordered dessert and had to wait another 20 minutetes to get 2 desserts. No apology-it was said "JUst Busy"

Went there for my birthday. Had been to the one in San Antonio 21 and 14 years ago. Remember that it was a nice experience. Wanted to celebrate my birthday there with family & friends. This was not the place to celebrate a birthday for someone turning 18. Your place is awesome for the much younger generation. Very dissappointed in the salad bar. Overall it was a disappointing evening and we drove almost 2 hours to get there.

The kids love going but the restaurant could use some updates- i don't think it's changed in 30 years and the food is so so. The other major issue is that they won't take reservations and on Saturday nights the wait is usually at least 2 hours. What's the big deal with taking reservations??? I'm sure my kids aren't the only ones who have been disappointed on a Saturday night. We would not come at all if the kids didn't think it was so great due to the reservation issue and the food that is too pricey for the quality.

We have been here several times, but will not go back after last night's experience.

Going to The Magic Time Machine is a great experience for my family, and guests when they come into town. Having their coupon makes them more affordable than they otherwise would be when we have visiting relatives, and for the fact we do not live very close to Addison.

Our server Princess Leia was extremely pleasant and great with our big group of 11 people including 7 children and 6 adults. It would have been nice if the characters would have dropped by our table and offered their autographs to the children (ages 6 and 8), instead of the children having to scour the restaurant looking for them, waiting until they weren't busy and asking for their autographs.

Our Magic Time Machine experience was one that will never be forgotten. The themed restaurant also had very talented face painter and portrait artist.

I had suggested going to your restaurant because I had two young nieces visiting. I had been only one other time over 20 years ago. I was extremely disappointed that our server didn't play her character. I was under the impression that all servers remained in character at all times. I only saw Cinderella in character. It was really very disappointing because I was excited for my nieces to have a memorable experience.
We have a 7 year old that loves the place, so we would probably eat there more often but we have to make is a special occassion because the food is so expensive. Some of the waiters/waitresses are interact more with the children than others. Last year was a better (more fun) experience than this year

I have been to the San Anotion location several times. Our fun factor was not the level we expected we had a waitress in a coustume... that was it. not near the fun and sad since we were celbrating a birthday from with family from Kansas. so so but not exciting.
Our waiter (Paul Bunyan) was fantastic! He was lively and interactive with our large party. We plan to visit again soon.
Ariel the waitress was great, as was the rest of the experience. The bartenders upstairs though had poor attitudes that didn't mix well with the rest of the staff though.

we had the NY steak with the grilled shrimp. The steak was good but the shrimp was way overcooked and the mahed potatoes were uneatable. the vegetables were ok but nothing to brag about.
I went to Texas to visit family, we have come to this restaurant every time I visit. The kids have a great time. Super Mario was outstanding. Kept the kids and the adults entertained. Great experience, but would have bought a $100 gift certificate if it were available for $40. Something to think about. Thank you.
Food was better than we expected. Our waiter, Hercules, was very good. Our granddaughters loved the evening and really liked the magic show.
