Always a pleasure to dine at Himalayan Bistro! The food is consistently delicious and the service is excellent. We are extremely picky about where we eat, and we are always happy with Himalayan Bistro!

My lady and I really enjoy this place. We always go on mondays when it is slow and we are to tirerd to cook and its a wonder they are not busier. Maybe if they had better signedge.
Everything was just bland starting from appetizers to main course. As an Indian, the food served was NOT Indian food. It lacked the flavor and the spice. Also the order of service was bad.. the first time the breads were served 10 minutes prior to the entrees. Really bad service.
The coconut soup was wonderful. I loved the fresh flakes of coconut in the very warm creamy milk. The cucumber veggie salad was large enough for both of us. The lamb with basmati rice was generous and to the hotness we specified. The chicken dish was a nice mix of flavors too.

We ordered Himalayan dinner for four and it came with SO MUCH food! It felt like a banquet at a wedding. Many verities. The presentation was very nice too. The food was delicious!! The service was great. Everyone was so helpful and polite. We will definitely come back!

Waiter is friendly, food is good, we ordered lamb curry and vegan curry. Small portion and little pricey, though. The service is a little bit slower due to the reason which the food is made freshly, we guess.

This is the family's favorite Indian restaurant. From the grandkids to the grandparents. We are still trying new things. This time it was the banana dumplings. Very good.
the thin dry bread and spreads which came as a free appetizer was excellent as well as the lentil soup. The veggie fried platter was not that much to my liking.

the food was really bland - not one thing we got, from 2 appetizers, to soup, to 2 entrees was tasty. adding a lot of salt, which I don't like to do, didn't help. the naan was the only good thing.

We had an outstanding vegetarian/vegan meal!
The samosas were fantastic and not over salted like other places. Their chicken tikka was cooked to perfection. Incredibly tender.

Unfortunately the service was extremely slow.We didn't get appetizers until hour half after we ordered, then our meal was a half hour after that and only came out in spurts.
I tried some dishes I hadn't had before, and liked them, but not as much as some of my regular dishes, the ones I order nearly every time. I am trying something new each visit, mixed with old favorites. The *naan,* chicken tandoori, and masala sauce are always wonderful. I tried Aloo Chat Papri and Aloo Mutter (I think the peas should have been cooked a tiny bit longer). The spinach fritters, a special, were delicious. The lassi, esp. sweet and mango, is always wonderful, tho the slice of mango on the edge of my glass was green and crunchy, not ripe. Service was attentive and kind, as always. We love our Bistro!!

The food was very good, but the atmosphere is poor. It is one large and loud room, where it is hard to hear your conversation and noise travels easily. The room is somewhat stark as well, and can be drafty when it is cold.
The service was very slow. We got in at 6:30 and didn't leave til after 7:30, though there were only 2-3 other tables filled. I know they do a lot of take out but we have never had such a slow experience.
The service was very attentive. The food is very tasty and they are willing to accommodate those who like more spice.
It was a lunch buffet with very nice choices. It did not get an excellent because some dishes were cold.

The restaurant was not busy at all, I guess it's a Monday night. Our waitress was pleasant but without any smile........The food was good but we think it will need a little more sodium. We definitely had better Indian food somewhere else.
Authentic flavors and good ambiance and service
Everything we ordered was fantastic. The options were interesting, new and different. Our kids love the new tastes and flavors. The place was clean and beautiful. All around a great restaurant. We will come back and recommend it to others.

upon entering the restaurant, we thought something had changed but it was not until we paid the bill that our suspicions were confirmed...we were told the restaurant had changed hands....the service, at the beginning, was quite poor...it was only towards the end of our meal that the wait staff changed and there was more interaction ....food was ok except lamb shank w/bone had one small piece of meat on it...kind of pricey for two bites!....soup and appetizers were tasty, vegetable dishes were fine, rice pudding was watery and masala tea was cold....would we go back, probably not....
We made the mistake of ordering 'mild' and the food was rather bland. Salt and pepper helped. Next time, we'll try the first level of spicy.
We have eaten at this restaurant a few times before and had great,tasty meals.But this time, it seemed to us that the quality of the meals had lower quite a bit since our last visit. It just wasn't the same this time around. Perhaps, we will pass this restaurant by in our next outing for the BEST Indian cuisine in this area.

It was Valentine’s Day and the restaurant was crowded; Himalayan Bistro was clearly not prepared for so many people. The waitress said that the little pots full of sweet and savory sauces for the Indian food were “out” – meaning they didn’t have any more — and it was only 7:15! (However, we did get the sauces, as did everyone else.) Then we waited one hour for our food, watching those who had arrived after us get served, and hearing one of the hosts say twice (thrice?) that our food was coming out of the kitchen next. Then when it arrived, the food, though tasty, was lukewarm. We are regulars at this restaurant, and like the food and people there very much; but no one apologized or made any attempt to compensate us for the unconscionable wait. Finally, the dishes are getting very expensive: $12.50 for a small dish of spinach and potatoes seems excessive to me. Without the Restaurant.com coupon we always use, I think we’d go to Himalayan Bistro once or twice a year, no more.
Our dinner was excellent. Clam chowder and haddock dinner - the best.Our server, Rene, was exceptional. Friendly, accommodating and very attentive.
Shrimp Cocktail was Delicious and wine was fine but the Cesare's Salads we ordered were not up to par and the shrimp on them were over cooked and it took a long time for them to be made!!!

I ordered for the table, as not everyone was familiar with the cuisine. My family and I go to HB often and I recommended it to my yoga class (the people in my party). My yoga teacher also liked the restaurant and had been there before. We had a great meal and a nice time, good service and a lovely spot!

Best Nepaleese restaurant in metro west Boston Massachusetts. No matter whatsoever other reviewers say and complain about service or lack of extreme spicy hot flavors or increased fees for some dishes that have changed for the first time in three years (which, by the way is just ridiculous) this place is absolutely great. Nepal people by nature are courteous, gentile and humble, and all the waiters here are amaizing. We have been here numerous times alone and with family and friends and it just keep getting better ! ! !
The food was excellent. We had the Sunday Brunch.There was a nice variety of dishes, both Nepalese and Indian. The Indian dishes were not greasy as is often the case. The Momo were better than many we had In Kathmandu.The only down side - due to the arrangement, there is a high noise level.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff efficient, despite their forgetting to serve a naan we had ordered. When this was pointed out at the end, they did remove the item from the bill. However, the food was pretty lackluster and will not warrant another visit.
