waiter was very pleasant

The server was excellent, cheery and checked back twice...very fine.
The food was good and our waitress was very friendly, but I had a couple of issues. I ordered a fish fry and was asked if I wanted creamy coleslaw or coleslaw with vinagrette. I ordered vinagrette, but was extremely surprised to find bacon in it. I thought there was no meat in coleslaw. I do not eat bacon. Also, I know it was close to closing time (restaurant closes at 8PM), but the floors around us were being mopped and I had an overwheLming "bleach smell" while I was eating. I was almost ready to change tables. We were done eating before 8PM---this should not have been done near us.
I didn't actually dine there; I picked up a food order. The food was very good!

Good service & food was good, home-cooked flavor; plenty of creative choices.
The waiter did not bring the soup until we asked what happened to it as he brought out our entrees. He did promptly bring the soup and also packaged it to go when it wasn't eaten alongside the entree.
There are several large booths/tables for bigger get-togethers; staff are very friendly and attentive; atmosphere is family, up-north, and comfortable. We especially love the home-made wheat toast!
Waitress was very helpful and there is always specials on the menu.
The food is great, homemade. The service is great, too. Enjoyed taking my friends there today.
I don't know what they do, but they have the best eggs in the area. Not sure if it is the eggs, or how they prepare them. Also, they are one of the very few places that have actual American fried potatoes (slices), not hash browns which is what some restaurants consider American Fries. Always a great breakfast at this restaurant.
There eggs are outstanding, and they are the only place I know of that has "real" American Fries. Many places call them that, but to me they are just glorified hash browns. These are sliced potatoes like they are suppose to be. Always happy with this place, but without "Restaurant.com", we think it is on the pricey side.

Always friendly staff with great food. Comfortable place to sit and chat for a while. Be sure to have the homemade toast with homemade jelly. Delicious!

Love their eggs. The American Fried potatoes could have been done a little more, they were a little hard, but the eggs made up for it, and usually they are fine. Have always enjoyed our food there.
